About

Los Angeles based artist Pia Pack sees her work as that of a cartographer of social situations. Focusing on the way people connect and interact, translating movements and mapping sounds into her artwork.  At the centre of her practise is the desire to bring people together.

Creating art can at times be a solitary experience, by comparison music is often considered a great unifier.

What Artists Listen To is creating an archive of the soundtracks and stories of female artists's lives. This combines the music the artists listen to with the story of their lives.  Listened to as a whole the recordings serve to create a sense of connection between these individual artists working in their studios.

The project includes a podcast which is updated weekly.

Pia Pack studied Fine Art in London at Byam Shaw St.Martins School of Art, Wimbledon School of Art, and Hochschule für Künste, Hamburg. She completed her MFA at Bath School of Art, UK.
